How do I choose a florist for my wedding?
- Get recommendations from everyone- married friends, wedding professionals, reception venues
- Choose two or three florists to call and find out if they are available for your wedding date
- Organise a consultation and ask if they charge a fee. Meet for at least an hour and ask lots of questions, look through portfolios and pictures.
- Information required for your consultation- time and location, any restrictions your ceremony/reception may have, colour scheme, picture of your dress and bridesmaids dresses, swatches of fabric, magazine photos of bouquets you like.
- Make sure you choose a florist with whom you trust and feel comfortable with. It is important that your florist understands your individual style and needs so your wedding flowers compliment you perfectly!
- If you don't like, or cannot afford, any of the first three florists you meet with, go to your list of recommendations and start with the next highly recommended ones.
- When you have chosen your florist, get a written contract which lists the date, time, place, specific flower requirements, designs. All details should be written very clearly.
- Then... relax and enjoy all the beautiful floral creations on your special day......
